DIRTcar Racing, Summit Racing Equipment Launch Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals

Month-long tour for UMP Modifieds to run with Summer Nationals

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Jan. 10, 2011 – DIRTcar Racing and Summit Racing Equipment are excited to announce the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals for UMP Modifieds.

The DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals is a new series that will tie together the 20-plus UMP Modified events scheduled in conjunction with the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour for UMP Late Models. More than 650 drivers are expected to compete in the series from mid-June to Mid-July.

“Summit Racing knows DIRTcar UMP Modifieds are one of the strongest divisions in motorsports,” said Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports and Event Manager. “We have been aggressively adding new product lines to ensure UMP Modified racers can get the parts they need at unbeatable prices with world class service.”

The Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals tour will kick off June 15 at Brownstown Speedway. It will hit tracks in six states as it winds its way through the heart of DIRTcar Racing’s UMP region before concluding in mid-July.

“Summit Racing Equipment is the premier performance parts supplier in the world, and it should make our racers proud that they have chosen DIRTcar Racing as their first major sponsorship investment in dirt track racing,” said DIRTcar UMP Director Sam Driggers. “Racing at Summer Nationals events has always been a highlight for our UMP Modified teams, but the launch of the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals is really going to ratchet things up.”

As Title Sponsor of the series, Summit Racing Equipment will post a $10,000 cash point fund. Over $5,000 in Summit Racing gift certificates will be posted as contingency awards at every event. The Championship standings will reflect a driver’s seven best finishes, opening the competition up to a significant number of drivers.

Summit Racing Equipment and DIRTcar officials will soon announce a significant contingency and product award program that will further reward UMP Modified teams competing in the Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals.
