Busy stretch includes races at Drummond, Mohawk, Super DIRT Week XL and Brockville
WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Sept. 8, 2011 – The Cornwall Motor Speedway 125-lap DIRTcar 358-Modified Series race, delayed by rain last Sunday, will be completed on Sunday, Sept. 25, beginning at 2 p.m., as part of the Jiffy Auto Service 200 event.
Racing at Cornwall for the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series will resume with the qualifying races. Any additional cars that wish to compete will start at the rear of one of the qualifying races.
The DIRTcar 358-Modified Series is back in action this Friday night during Race Mania 7 at Autodrome Drummond before competing Friday, Sept. 16, at Mohawk International Raceway. The race at Cornwall on Sept. 25 will lead into a busy Super DIRT Week XL schedule with races on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at CMP Presents Weedsport Speedway; Thursday, Oct. 6, at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in conjunction with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series; and the big 150-mile event on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the New York State Fairgrounds. The series championship will come down to a 100-lapper during the DIRTcar Fall Nationals on Oct. 15 at Brockville Ontario Speedway.
Through three series races, Danny O’Brien is leading the DIRTcar 358-Modified standings by 20 points over Carey Terrance and 26 points over Matt Williamson. The Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified Weekly Championship just concluded, with David Hebert claiming the title after earning 12 wins in 38 starts. Hebert is fifth in the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series standings.
