Rain throughout the day forced track officials to cancel Mr. DIRTcar Championship Series events scheduled Friday at Brockville Ontario Speedway and Ransomville Speedway.
Mid-day rain in the Brockville area resulted in the cancellation of the scheduled 75-lap Mr. DIRTcar event for 358-Modifieds along with the twice rain delayed final 96 laps of the Canadian DIRT Challenge Series. Neither of these marquee events will be rescheduled and fans and teams with rain checks from the September 6 rainout are eligible for a refund through September 30.
Those in the area can also bring their rain checks to the speedway tomorrow night, September 13, for the popular Run-What-U-Brung Modified event and the twin features for the Sportsman or to the September 21 Enduro event to make an exchange. Tickets or armbands from September 6 can also be sent along with a self addressed stamped envelope to Brockville Speedway, RR#1 Brockville, Ontario, K6V 5T1. Armbands need to have the full name of the individual who signed the track waiver on them.
Up next on the 2008 Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified Championship Series schedule is ‘Race Mania 4’ at Autodrome Drummond on Saturday, September 13, with Small-Block stars on both sides of the border will be chasing a $15,000 top-prize in 150-laps of open-wheel competition. Activity gets underway at Drummond with pit gates opening at 12 noon and the first green flag thrown for practice at 3:30 p.m. Small-Block Time Trials will start at 4 o’clock. Due to Inclement weather, Ransomville management pulled the plug on the popular ‘King of the Hill’ weekend at noon on Friday, which included the postponed Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series event from Sept. 5. The following schedule is now in effect for the Saturday, Sept. 20 show on the ridge: Gates Open at 3 pm in the Pit Area, Gates Open at 5 pm in the Grandstands, King of the Hill Street Stock 100, Choice Wireless 2 BBL Challenge, 30-Lap Crate Sportsman, Bobcat of Buffalo Firehall Enduro, Mini-Stocks, 4/6 Cylinder Enduro.
