Late Model

After a week’s worth of heavy rain at Volusia Speedway Park, Wednesday (Jan. 17) night practice for Sunshine Nationals has been canceled with the best interest of the driver and fan experience in mind.

This will allow for the best on-track action the rest of the week with racing starting on Thursday, Jan. 18 at Volusia Speedway Park for the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Equipment Late Models, Crate Racin’ USA Late Models and DIRTcar 602 Late Models.

The three-day (Jan. 18-20) Late Model Palooza will see the best drivers in each division racing every night at “The World’s Fastest Half Mile.” Of the drivers in attendance will include defending World of Outlaws champion Bobby Pierce, four-time World of Outlaws champion Brandon Sheppard, Chris Madden, Nick Hoffman and many more.

Pit passes will go on sale on Thursday at 9 a.m. (ET). Haulers will then load in at 10 a.m. All other times remain the same with the grandstands opening at 4 p.m. and Hot Laps at 5 p.m. Opening Ceremonies are scheduled for 7 p.m. with racing to follow.
