CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – July 9, 2011 – Wendell Wallace certainly has Clarksville Speedway figured out after winning the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Hell Tour main event Saturday night.
Wallace, who won both nights of the famed Toilet Bowl Classic at the Tennessee track in 2009, worked around Shannon Babb in the midst of lapped traffic to take command near the midpoint of the 40-lap main event. The Batesville, Ark., driver never looked back holding Babb at bay over the final 27 circuits to claim the $10,000 win. Babb claimed second after starting on the pole, ahead of fellow front row starter Terry English of Benton, Ky., who finished third. DIRTcar late model rookie Kent Robinson of Bloomington, Ind., finished fourth. Jack Sullivan of Greenbriar, Ark., rounded out the top five.
