Western All Star DIRTcar Late Model and UMP West Modifieds Announce New Technical Director

DIRTcar is excited to announce that Brian Zachary has been named Technical Director for the Western All Star DIRTcar Late Model Series and the UMP DIRTcar Modifieds in California. He will also serve as Competitor Relations for the Pacific Region.

“Having someone on board with Brian’s experience is going to make the 2011 season even more exciting,” said Chris Morgan, Director of Western Operations for DIRTcar. “Under his technical direction, the competition is going to be really close, which will make for some sensational battles on the track.”

Zachary has a racer’s perspective as well a background in technical direction. He raced at Antioch Speedway for several years, served as their Technical Director for two and half years, and then moved into a chief steward’s role.

“I’m excited about the season,” Zachary said. “The Modified program is going to have a really good turnout with three tracks on board this year. And the late models are going to open a lot of eyes. We’re going to have a great season in both divisions.”

“A lot of the drivers are running both divisions,” he continued. “We’re going to have a huge level of competition in the late model series as well as the Modifieds. With Bobby Hogge and Chris Shannon running with us, we’ve got some of the best racers California offers.”
