Syracuse Hotels Gearing Up For Super DIRT Week Spectacular

In just one more month the City of Syracuse will roar to life as the 39th edition of Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds moves to the forefront of the racing world.

Not only will hundreds of campers once again converge on the historic “Moody Mile” for the annual autumn motorsports extravaganza, even more fans and racers arriving from out of state will be finding refuge during SDW XXXIX, Oct. 6-10, in the confines of downtown Syracuse.

Continuing to embrace the area auto racing fraternity and its legion of loyal followers, a half-dozen hotels have teamed up with DIRTcar Racing Northeast to provide special guest packages that will remain in effect throughout the Columbus Day holiday.

“We’ve worked closer than ever before with city officials since our Big-Block Modifieds rolled through the streets of Syracuse in July,” remarked Jeff Hachmann, Director of Marketing, Promotions and Sales for DIRTcar NE, alluding to the All-Star Weekend parade that showcased a handful of sleek Modified machines and attracted ample television coverage on this historic occasion.

“The business community has come on board like never before in support of Super DIRT Week. Area hotels certainly understand the economic impact of our premier event better than most and are offering some outstanding room rates next month. Unlike during other peak season events, occupants won’t be required to lock into a minimum number of nights they stay. And that’s a great opportunity to take advantage of as October gets closer and rooms continue to fill up,” Hachmann said.

With the Holiday Inn Express in Warners, N.Y., designated as the host hotel for DIRTcar Racing staff and officials, the Crowne Plaza (Syracuse), Comfort Inn & Suites (2 locations in Syracuse), Candlewood Suites (N.Syracuse), and Maplewood Inn (Liverpool) are also featured lodges on stand-by to accommodate all Super DIRT Week room requests.

To find out the special Super DIRT Week rates in effect for all hotel affiliates, log into www.SuperDIRTWeekOnline.com, select the Hotel/Camping tab at the top, then scroll down to view each choice.

The World of Outlaws ‘King of the Mile’ Dash is slated for Syracuse on Oct. 8 prior to the winged warriors traveling across town to Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge for a Saturday night showdown.

Headlining Fri., Oct. 8 cards are ‘360 Sprint Car Challenge’ and ‘Parts Plus Big Six’ Street Stock Series shows at Cayuga County Fair Speedway in Weedsport while another 358/Sportsman doubleheader makes up the twilight program at Rolling Wheels, where the ‘Win And You’re In’ Big-Block show accompanies the WoO Sprint Series special on Saturday. Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville hosts a 358-Mod/Sportsman Series twin-bill on Wed., Oct. 6, and Brewerton Speedway follows with a 100-lap 358-Modified main event Thursday.
