If you know ‘March Madness,’ then you know that the 2010 season is coming to a close on the courts in the race to the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Championship in the U.S.

If you are more in tune to the local racing season, you have to know that it means that the season is just about to start.

For the brand new driver or one moving up from another division —even a veteran looking for an edge against all the up and coming young guns— the Bicknell Racing Products Chassis Seminar and Pete Bicknell Driving School is just the thing.

“Although our focus leans towards Sportsman and Modified teams, each year our classes are made up of drivers from all divisions looking to boost their confidence and knowledge,” noted BRP’s Randy Williamson. “Sign up fast as limited space is available in the both sessions.”

The upcoming Bicknell Racing Products Chassis Seminar and Pete Bicknell Driving School is also coming up quickly. The 2010 dates at Merrittville Speedway are April 10-11.

The day-long sessions feature both classroom and on-track sessions that will benefit any type of race car, from entry level Street Stocks and 4 Cylinders to Classic Dwarf Cars and Modified Lites to the Sportsman and 358-Modified or Big-Block type race cars.

Drivers and crew members alike will learn what it takes to stop the guess work by going through a complete walk through of the Bicknell Racing Products Set-Up Book. In addition to safety, solving improper handling, how to adapt to changing track conditions, proper spring and shock selection, tire management and how to interpret weight transfer, body roll and roll steer will also be discussed.

Each trackside portion will provide drivers with proper driving techniques and overall car preparation. Drivers should bring along their RACEceivers or one way radios to permit coaching from both Williamson and Bicknell. Drivers with AMB transponders on their cars will also be provided print outs of lap times for the day.

Both the classroom and track portions will be held at Merrittville Speedway. All Inclusive Registration Fee for Drivers is $400 while the Crew Member Fee is $75.

Interested race teams are encouraged to reserve their spots as soon as possible by contacting Erica Bicknell at the Merrittville Speedway Winter Office (until March 26 when the track office re-opens) located in Bicknell Racing Products – 117 Cushman Road in St. Catharines Ontario or by calling 905/685-7223 (after March 26, call 905/892-8266) and e-mailing ebicknell@cogeco.net.

By visiting either www.merrittvillespeedway.com or www.bicknellracingproducts.com a link on the school flyer allows on line registration as well. In the weeks leading up to the start of the season, race fans can keep visiting merrittvillespeedway.com or follow on Face Book for all the pre-season news. Merrittville Speedway is a 3/8-mile DIRTcar Racing member track that will be celebrating it’s 59th consecutive season of operation in 2010.
