As the temperature rises in New York’s North Country, the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series is ready to rumble on the banks of Lake Champlain.

The Series will visit Airborne Park Speedway for the first time since 2019 in the Battle of Plattsburgh on Thursday, June 12, in a 75-lap Feature paying $5,000-to-win.

Joining the 358 Modified Series are the DIRTcar Sportsman Series East Region and the track’s Renegade, Limited Sportsman, and Mini Stock divisions.

Here are the key storylines to watch at Airborne:

Hollywood’s Home: Defending Series champion Felix Roy has a chance to pick up where he left off in 2024, as the Series opens at a track where he leads the points standings.

The Napierville, QC driver enters Thursday’s race with momentum after earning a 358 Modified win at Albany-Saratoga Speedway two weeks ago and a Big Block Modified win at Autodrome Drummond last weekend.

“Hollywood” has won five features so far in 2025, including two at Airborne. However, he’s searching for his first DIRTcar 358 Modified Series victory.

North Country Contenders: Lance Willix, who narrowly missed out on the Series title last season, also enters Thursday with momentum after finishing second at Can-Am Speedway before earning back-to-back victories at Fulton Speedway and Cornwall Motor Speedway.

The Theresa, NY driver also won the Series opener last season, outdueling Stewart Friesen to win at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. He’s searching for his third DIRTcar 358 Modified Series win.

Another driver to keep an eye on out of the North Country is 2003 DIRTcar 358 Series champion, Tim Fuller. Despite not reaching Victory Lane at Airborne this season, he’s third in the track’s standings with three top fives and four top 10s in five races. The Edwards, NY driver is a 21-time Series winner.

Canadian Flare: With Airborne’s proximity to Canada, Thursday’s roster is expected to have many drivers from Quebec and Eastern Ontario, including David Hebert and Chris Raabe.

Hebert has already reached Victory Lane at Airborne in 2025, his first win at the 1/2-mile track. While that’s the “Great Canadian Champion’s” only win at Airborne, he’s no stranger to Victory Lane with the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series. The St. Damase, QC driver is eighth on the Series all-time wins list with 16 triumphs. He’s searching for his first Series win since 2022 at Brockville Ontario Speedway.

Raabe, a two-time track champion, is tied for second on Airborne’s dirt all-time wins list with 16 victories. The Alexandria, ON driver is also a five-time DIRTcar 358 Modified Series winner, and like Hebert, his last win came at Brockville in 2022.

Super Contenders: Thursday night’s Battle of Plattsburgh will also have Super DIRTcar Series stars in attendance, including two Airborne competitors.

Defending track champion Mike Mahaney is a five-time winner at the “Big A” but is searching for his first win at the track in 2025. The Elizabethtown, NY driver also aims for his second career 358 Modified Series win after earning his first at Albany-Saratoga last September.

Justin Stone, meanwhile, already reached Victory Lane at Airborne in 2025 with his first DIRTcar Northeast Modified win of the season. In three races at Airborne, the Middlebury, VT driver has two top fives and two top 10s. He’s aiming for his first career 358 Modified Series win.

They’ll both contend with 2023 Series champion Mat Williamson. The St. Catharines, ON driver has never won at Airborne in his career, with his best finish a fourth in the track’s Adirondack Invasion last season. A “Money Mat” win on Thursday would be his 16th 358 Modified Series victory, which would tie Hebert for eighth all-time.
