More Than One Chance to Win at Albany-Saratoga, with Dash for Cash, Heat Prizes
MALTA, N. Y. – Friday, July 5, 2013 – Super DIRTcar Series star and The Big Show 5 promoter Brett Hearn is ready to put on another spectacular show this year, adding races and prizes to the usual series show rundown.
Part of The Big Show 5, which runs Tuesday, July 9, at Albany-Saratoga Speedway, is the 12-lap Big-Block Modified Morris Ford Dash for Cash. The Dash pits the top five drivers in Super DIRTcar Series point standings – Matt Sheppard, Jimmy Phelps, Brett Heaern, Stewart Friesen, and Danny Johnson – against the top five in track points at Albany-Saratoga – Kenny Tremont Jr., Matt DeLorenzo, Ronnie Johnson, Marc Johnson, and Pete Britten.
Additionally part of the Dash lineup is a driver voted in by fans and the defending event champion, Bobby Varin. The 12 drivers will take part in a “Jeopardy Draw” for starting positions, with the exception of Varin, who must start last and take on the “12th Place Challenge.” A $500 awaits the winner of the Dash, with positions two through four also receiving checks
Big-Block Modified drivers at Brett Hearn’s The Big Show 5 also have the chance to earn winnings in Super DIRTcar Series qualifying heats. Each heat winner will receive a prize of $500.
Brett Hearn’s The Big Show 5 also features the DIRTcar Pro Stock Series, a special driver autograph session, and various midway vendors and attractions on race night. All seating is general admission and priced at $24. Children under 12 are $5. Pit admission is $30for DIRTcar/Albany-Saratoga/Lebanon Valley members or $35 for nonmember.
