Kingston, ONT — April 15, 2009 – By Craig Revelle, Finish Line Web Design
With last week’s misfortunes at Black Rock Speedway behind them, the Whitteker Motorsports team set their sights on the Merrittville Speedway and the Pete Bicknell Racing School.
This is the second straight season attending the popular racing school, located in Thorold, Ontario. It was also the first time on the track for Whitteker’s brand new 2009 Bicknell car.
“The school went really good, the car is handling very well and we learned a lot,” said Whitteker, who is set to embark on his sophomore season in the DIRTcar Sportsman division.
The team traveled to Merrittville early Saturday morning (April 11), in time to run the evening practice session at the track. Sunday morning was spent in class as Pete Bicknell and company partner Randy Williamson did a seminar on chassis set-ups. Following the in-class portion, the class then headed on track for the remainder of the program.
The Whitteker team would like to thank their 2009 Sponsors, which include Rust Check, Jim’s Performance Plus, Caldwell Banker, Steve Summers Coburn Realty, NAPA/Parcoll Products, Riverside Pontiac, Cohen & Lord Insurance Brokers, Quaker State, and Finish Line Web Design.
Next up for the 38 special, Luke Whitteker team will be the second round of the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series at the Can-Am Motorsports Park in LaFargeville, New York on Friday night, April 17, followed by the first round of the SUNY Canton Sportsman Series on Saturday night, April 18.
