Fans Gain Clear View of Volusia Racing With Hauler Height Limits

2009 DIRTcar NationalsBarberville, FL — The race cars during the 38th Annual Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH will use just about every inch of the Volusia Speedway Park monster half-mile oval. Now, fans will be able to see every breathtaking move during the 12 nights of racing from Feb. 3-14.

This year, race haulers in the infield will be limited to 9 feet, 6 inches, in height. This clears the sightlines for every seat in the grandstands. Now fans sitting toward Turn 4 can see a pass for the lead in the second corner, and those fans sitting in Turn 1 will see potential slide jobs for a win in Turn 4.

“We know fans use their vacation and spend their hard-earned dollars to come out and watch the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH, we want to make sure they have the best experience possible,” said Volusia Speedway Park General Manager Tonya Moschell. “Every seat is a great seat, with tremendous sightlines around the track. Nobody should miss a second of the action or a pass for the lead.”

The Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH at Volusia Speedway Park is the Daytona Beach area’s place to race at night in February. Only 15 miles west of I-95 Exit 268 on State Road 40, the Alltel DIRTcar Nationals By UNOH will feature the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, the Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series, UMP DIRTcar Super Late Models and Open-Wheel Modifieds plus the All Star Circuit of Champions Sprint Cars.

Pit gates will open daily at 3 p.m. with grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps will begin at 6:15 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m. Fans with Alltel Wireless phones are invited with a guest to the Alltel FanZone beginning at 5 p.m.
