Thursday, Oct. 12 Portion of DIRTcar Roundup “Steel City Stampede” Cancelled
Persistent Rain and Saturated Grounds Forces Cancellation of the first day of the three-day event
SARVER, PA — Oct. 12, 2017 — DIRTcar Racing and Lernerville Speedway officials have been forced to cancel the Thursday, Oct. 12, DIRTcar Roundup “Steel City Stampede” practice day due to persistent rain in the Sarver, PA area along with saturated grounds.
The weather system is moving out of the Western, PA area, with a beautiful weather forecast for the remaining two days of the DIRTcar Roundup “Steel City Stampede”. DIRTcar Racing and Lernerville Speedway officials feel it’s in the best interest to preserve the racing surface for the best possible racing conditions for the remaining two days.
The DIRTcar Roundup “Steel City Stampede” is hosted at Lernerville Speedway and features 10 different divisions: 410 Sprint Cars, DIRTcar Late Models, DIRTcar Northeast Modifieds, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, DIRTcar Open Pro Stocks, RUSH Crate Late Models, RUSH Sportsman Modifieds, 305 Race Saver Sprints, 4 Cylinders and 100 Lap Enduro.
With on-track activities at Lernerville Speedway cancelled, registration will still be open at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Registration will also reopen on Friday, starting at 12:00 p.m; RUSH registration will begin at 2:00 p.m.
Grandstand gates for the DIRTcar Roundup “Steel City Stampede” open at 5:00 p.m., with opening ceremonies set to kick off at 7:25 p.m.
