The new Colorado Motorsports Park and the DIRTcar Colorado Late Model Association will work together to try and grow the sport of Dirt Late Model racing in Colorado. The Colorado Motorsports Park will have up to 4 DIRTcar CLMA races and a weekly late model class that will have 10 late model races on the schedule in 2010. The track has agreed to use the DIRtcar CLMA rules for the weekly late model class for the 2010 season. The track and the touring series will also work together to make sure that they do not schedule races on the same night. This will give the DIRTcar CLMA drivers a place close to home to race when there is not a scheduled DIRTcar CLMA points race and it will also increase the number of cars that will be able to show up for the weekly races and put on a good show for the fans.
The Colorado Motorsports Park and the DIRTcar CLMA are also working with UMP to have all of the weekly races sanctioned by DIRTcar. If this happens all of the weekly races at Colorado Motorsports Park will count towards the UMP DIRTcar National, Regional, and State points. If the Colorado Motorsports Park has DIRTcar sanction all of its weekly late model races it will give drivers the oppertunity to compete in up to 30 UMP DIRTcar points races if they make it to all of the DIRTcar CLMA races and all of the Colorado Motorsports Park weekly races.
